Setouchi Triennale 2025

Until November 9, 2025

At Tonosho Port on Shodoshima Island, Cambodian artist Sopheap Pich presents Mountain, a monumental outdoor sculpture for the Setouchi Triennale 2025 - a celebrated international art festival that transforms the islands of Japan’s Seto Inland Sea into a stage for contemporary art.

Made from natural materials, Pich’s work reflects his interest in how cultivated and wild landscapes coexist. Positioned to obscure parts of the urban skyline, Mountain reconnects visitors with the surrounding nature while offering spaces to walk through, pause, and reflect.

Known for weaving bamboo, rattan, and other humble materials into powerful sculptural forms, Pich brings a poetic dialogue between tradition, environment, and the act of seeing to this unique island setting.
