The International Fine Art and Antique Show 2014
Axel Vervoordt is pleased to announce our annual participation to The International Fine Art and Antique Show, which takes places at The Park Avenue Armory, Park Avenue at 67th Street, New York City (NY 10065)

Our booth will present a large survey of post-war ZERO art, in parallel with the grand exhibition at the Guggenheim “ZERO, Countdown to Tomorrow”.  Started as a German movement, ZERO members like Heinz Mack, Otto Piene and Günther Uecker wanted to embody ideas of a new beginning, or "point zero", in order to distance themselves from the wartime atrocities.  Soon, these notions of renewal were followed by international artists like Lucio Fontana in Italy, Jef Verheyen in Belgium and Jan Schoonhoven in the Netherlands.

These paintings will be juxtaposed to a collection of archaeological artworks from various origins e.g. an Egyptian four-sided Hathor Capital from the Ptolemaic Period, 332-30 B.C. and a Roman "Janiform Herm" Pilar in marble from the 1st century A.D.
