The Importance of Being… is an exhibition dedicated to the rich Belgian contemporary art world. It gathers 40 of Belgium’s most prominent artists in several disciplines. By connecting Belgian contemporary artists and the very dynamic Region of Latin-America this group exhibition tries to achieve artistic, economic and cultural exchange and recognition of the quality both art worlds have to offer. 

Angel Vergara's work Feuilleton, Les sept péchés capitaux will be accompanied by works of the following artists: Chantal Akerman, Francis Alÿs, Charif Benhelima, Guillaume Bijl, Michaël Borremans, Dirk Braeckman, Jacques Charlier, David Claerbout, Leo Copers, Patrick Corillon, Cel Crabeels, Berlinde De Bruyckere, Jan De Cock, Peter de Cupere, Carl De Keyzer, Edith Dekyndt, Wim Delvoye, Fred Eerdekens, Michel François, Jan Fabre, Kendell Geers, Ann Veronica Janssens, Johan Grimonprez, Hans Op de Beeck, Marie-Jo Lafontaine, Jacques Lizène, Ana Torfs, Walter Swennen, Pascale Marthine Tayou, Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven, Joëlle Tuerlinckx, Koen van den Broek, Burno Vekemans, Koen Vanmechelen, Lieve Van Stappen, Raoul De Keyser, Marcel Broodthaers and Philippe Vandenberg.

The Importance of Being… will afterwards travel further through Latin America, to Museo de Arte Contemporaneo, Buenos Aires, Argentina (4 July - 12 September 2015); to Museu de Arte Moderna, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil (2 December 2015 - 14 February 2016); and to Museu de Arte Contemporânea da Universidade de São Paulo, São Paulo, Brasil (11 April - 14 July 2016).
